May 11th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police conducted six vehicle stops this morning with several resulting in arrests. Three people were arrested for OUI related offenses.

One of the vehicle stops was near the intersection of Clinton Parkway and Wakarusa Drive at 4:08 a.m.. The officer who initiated the stop reported that the driver of the vehicle was running on foot just after the vehicle stopped. The officer did not give chase and instead detained the passenger in the vehicle. Officers were able to catch up with that driver at his home address, around 4:30 a.m.. The man was arrested for OUI, Interference with the Duties of an Officer, and Transporting an open container.

Police responded on a burglary alarm at a business in the 700 block of W 23rd Street at 4:45 a.m.. Upon arrival, Officers reported that the front window of the business was broken out. It was not clear what, if anything, was taken. No suspect information was available.
