March 16th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police were kept plenty busy early this morning. Between 2 a.m. and 2:10 a.m., Police were called out on five separate calls, four of those being potentially violent, one which reportedly involved a weapon. The only non-violent call was a noise complaint. None of this activity resulted in any serious injuries or was reported to have involved any arrests.

Officers contacted a subject who was seen trespassing on private property, reportedly involved in drug activity. That subject was arrested a short time later for carrying a weapon, possession and criminal trespassing.

Police also conducted a vehicle stop which resulted in a DUI arrest in the 600 block of Massachusetts Street.

Today is Day 5 of Severe Weather Awareness Week. Today the National Weather Service encourages the public to learn more about and if you haven’t done so already, purchase a NOAA Weather Radio. More information can be found here from Operation 100 News.
