June 9th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police received information on at least six criminal damage incidents from the 1900 block to the 2100 block along Maple Lane. This is the same area where several mailboxes were reported damaged last weekend. This morning Police received the first report about 1:40 a.m., the last report was taken about an hour later.

I am not completely sure what brought KU Police to the area this morning but, around 2:30, Officers reported several subjects trespassing on the roof of a building in the 1400 block of Jayhawk Boulevard. One of the subjects was found near the side of the building, while two others were on the roof. The first person chose to come down without much of a fuss, the second chose to remain on the roof and forced Officers to come up after her. It sounded like there were only the three subjects involved and all three were arrested. The first for possessing another person’s Driver’s License and both of the others for Criminal Trespassing.

Lawrence Officers were called to investigate a domestic disturbance around 4:15 a.m., near Hawthorne Drive and Clinton Parkway. As those officers arrived in the area the caller reported the male half was leaving in a pickup truck. Officers were able to catch up with the truck in the 1000 block of W 23rd Street when it pulled into the Dillon’s parking lot. While speaking to the caller, officers also learned that the driver struck a parked vehicle while fleeing from the initial disturbance. The driver of the truck was arrested and faces numerous charges this morning. Those charges include Domestic Battery, Criminal Damage to Property, Leaving the Scene of a Non-injury Accident, Failure to Report an Accident and DWI.

No serious injuries were reported with any of this morning’s activity.
