June 23rd Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police conducted at least seven vehicle stops this morning, one resulting in a OUI related arrest. The Sheriff’s Office also conducted a couple vehicle stops with one resulting in a OUI related arrest.

Around 2:20 a.m., Lawrence Police were called to check on a report of gunshots heard in the 2500 block of Cedarwood Avenue. One caller reported hearing what she believed to be two gunshots. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate anything suspicious.

At 2:46 a.m., Police were called to investigate the sound of a possible explosion in the 600 block of N 2nd Street. Two officers checked the area and did not report locating any damage or signs of an explosion.

Officers also recorded two arrests in the 500 block of Colorado after responding on a report of a battery. Both of the arrested people had outstanding warrants for their arrests. One subject had three narcotic related warrants and the other subject had a Failure to Appear in Municipal Court warrant.

None of this morning’s activity was reported to have resulted in any serious injuries.
