July 16th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Lawrence Police conducted two vehicle stops within minutes for 2 a.m.. Both stops resulted in OUI related arrests.

Around 2:30 a.m., Firefighters in the Baldwin City area responded back to the scene, 1500 block of N 300 Road, of an earlier grass/brush fire. A deputy checking on the scene reported that the fire had rekindled. Fire crews were on the scene for a little more than an hour extinguishing some hot spots. The fire was not reported to be endangering any structures. Information on the earlier fire can be found here from the Lawrence Journal-World.

Police in Lawrence responded on three disturbances, and received information on a non-injury accident in the 700 block of New Jersey.

None of this morning’s activity was reported to have involved any serious injuries.
