July 1st Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap

Lawrence Police were kept busy this morning with disturbances. Two people were taken into custody shortly after 2 a.m., in the 1000 block of Massachusetts Street. At least 12 Officers and one deputy were on the scene by the time things settled down. The male that was arrested was transported to LMH by Medics after LPD used a taser on him. His injuries were minor and he has since been booked into the county jail. No other injuries were reported. The male faces charges of Interference with the Duties of an Officer and Disorderly Conduct. The female arrested faces a Disorderly Conduct charge. Officers also responded on several noise complaints and an alcohol complaint before 2:30 a.m..

Police checked on several reports of fireworks this morning between 2:30 and 3 a.m..

An arrest was made shortly after 3:30 a.m., following a domestic disturbance. The subject arrested faces a Domestic Battery charge.

Sheriff’s Deputies reported making a DWI related arrest near N 400 Road and Lone Creek.

None of this morning’s activity was reported to have resulted in any serious injures.
