February 28th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

About 10 minutes before midnight, Lawrence Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle which was seen weaving near W 6th Street and Queens Road. After reportedly failing field sobriety test, the man was arrested. According to the scanner chatter, this arrest marked the man’s second DUI related arrest.

Police responded on a total of three disturbances this morning, two of which were said to be domestic related. One of the domestic incidents resulted in a domestic battery arrest.

Officers reported another DUI arrest in the 600 block of Vermont, just before 2:30 a.m..

At 5:20 a.m., Lawrence Police were called to investigate a car vs deer accident near 14th and Iowa Streets. The driver was not injured, Officers did not report a status of the deer.

The National Weather Service is calling for thunderstorms, possibly becoming severe, in the afternoon with the potential for large hail and strong winds.

None of this mornings activity was said to have involved the use of any weapons and no serious injuries were reported.
