September 30th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Nothing to out of the ordinary for Douglas County last night.

Police in Lawrence handled most of the fairly usual, every night calls. Noise complaints, disturbances and numerous vehicle stops. There were several bar checks which resulted in alcohol violations as well.

LPD investigated a non injury accident in the 600 block of New Hampshire Street just before 2 a.m.. Just before 5 a.m. Police were called to respond to check on the traffic lights in the 2200 block of Massachusetts Street on reports that the lights were not cycling properly. Officers stuck around and directed traffic for about 10 minutes while the signals were reset.

Yesterday, KDOT announced that their contractor will begin the resurfacing project on K-10 from east city limits of Lawrence to the Douglas/Johnson County Line. More info here.
