Lawrence Police got an early start on the night with a report of gunshots heard in the area of the 2300 block of Ridge Court just before 9:15 p.m.

Officers responded on a reported domestic disturbance in the 600 block of New Hampshire shortly after midnight. When officers arrived a male ran from the address. That man was apprehended a few minutes later near the intersection of 7th and Massachusetts Street.

Around 1:20 a.m. Lawrence Police along with LDCFM units were called to the the area of 23rd and Haskell Avenue on reports of an injury accident. LPD arrived and quickly restricted traffic on 23rd Street between Haskell Ave and Learnard Ave. LDCFM units arrived on scene and sized up the situation to include three vehicles, two of which hit nearly head on. Those units assessed the occupants of the vehicles, who were all out of the vehicles upon arrival, one minor injury was reported at the scene. No one was transported from the scene by Medics.

Shortly after 2 a.m. LDCFM was called to the 200 block of 8th Street after a male, who was believed to have been intoxicated, fell and reportedly suffered a seizure after falling. The man’s condition was reported critical according to scanner traffic from units on the scene. LifeStar was requested to respond to transport the patient to Stormont Vail in Topeka. Police and Fire units blocked traffic on W 6th Street between Tennessee Street and Kentucky Street for LifeStar to land and the patient to be transferred from a Medic unit to the aircraft. Traffic was reopened on W 6th Street just after 2:30 a.m.

Another report of gunshots heard in the area of 3100 Ousdahl Road at 2:40 a.m.

Just after 3:30 a.m. this morning Lawrence Police attempted to contact three subjects in the area of the Jayhawk Motel on N 3rd Street, near the KTA. One of the subjects immediately ran, the officer on scene held the second two subjects at gunpoint and reported on the runner’s whereabouts for as long as he could see him. The subject that ran did not make it far, he was quickly apprehended in the 300 block of NE Industrial Lane.

Lawrence Police along with KUPD checked the area of the 1800 block of Iowa this morning shortly before 6 a.m. after a report of two subjects on the overpass throwing rocks at passing vehicles. The subjects were not located in the area when Police arrived.

Police from six different agencies in Johnson County spent about four hours searching an area of Gardner after a reported sighting of the inmate who escaped from Lansing on Wednesday. He remains at large this morning. More information.
