November 30th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

This morning just after 12:30 a.m., Emergency Dispatchers received reports of an accident in the 500 block of Wakarusa Drive. One of the callers stated that one of the involved vehicles had rolled and was now on its side and blocking the roadway. Police arrived quickly and determined that there were no injuries involved.

Just after 1 a.m. LDCFM and KU Police responded to the 1600 block of Ellis Drive after a resident reported a “heater” on fire in a closet. KU Public Safety arrived on scene and reported that they believed it to only be the “pilot light in the furnace.” LDCFM arrived and then confirmed that it was only a pilot light.

Lawrence Police also responded on several disturbances, noise complaints and checked on multiple burglary alarms. None of the disturbances involved the use of any weapons or resulted in any serious injuries.

Lawrence Police continue to investigate a stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon in the 500 block of John Doy Court.
