Lawrence Police performed car stops and responded on calls for service like noise complaints, a few disturbances and several parking violations.

At 5 a.m. this morning, Douglas County Deputies were called to respond to EB K-10 at County Road 1057 on reports of cattle that had wandered onto one of the Highway’s ramps. Deputies were able to send the cattle off in the other direction, it was not clear if the owner was located.

Minutes before 6 a.m. Douglas County Deputies were called to respond to the Campground in the 1100 block of E 700 Road, where a woman was unable to find her six year old son. Just a few minutes later, as Deputies were responding and emergency dispatchers continued to gather information by phone, they were advised that the boy had been located safely. The child had wandered off in the opposite direction from what his mother was. Deputies responded to the campground to check on the situation and confirm the child’s safety.
