July 10th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

A very busy overnight for Lawrence Police. Started with more fireworks complaints. I counted seven throughout the night.

LDCFM along with Lecompton Fire responded on an injury accident on the turnpike between the Lecompton interchange and the Shawnee County line. Two people were treated for minor injuries.

Just before 1 a.m. a subject called 911 advising that an unknown man had shown up on his front porch and said that he had been shot. The caller advised that he did not see a gunshot wound but he did see blood. LPD arrived on the call, in the 1100 block of Kentucky, and quickly advised that the man had not been shot. Fire/Medical units had been dispatched to the scene and were canceled at the request of the injured subject. It was unclear what the man’s injury was.

Lawrence Police were kept busy with fights, disturbances, noise complaints and car stops for most of the late night into the early morning hours. None of the incidents seemed to result in any serious injuries.

Douglas County Deputies were called to respond to The Outhouse in the 1800 block of North 1500 Road, just east of Lawrence. The caller who was an employee, reported that there was a large number of subjects in the parking lot who were refusing to leave the property.

There were at least 3 DUI arrests made throughout the county. LPD also responded on several non injury accidents.

Again, the activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
