December 25th Early Morning Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Just after 2 a.m., Lawrence Police were called to investigate a non injury accident in the 800 block of W 24th Street.

At 2:10 a.m., LDCFM and Police were dispatched to a possible structure fire in the 1700 block of W 19th Street at the Applecroft Apartments. Fire crews arrived and quickly located a fire in a first floor apartment. Incident command ordered a second alarm response for additional assistance to the scene. Firefighters reported “forcing entry” into several apartments. The fire was put under control within about 30 minutes and no injuries were reported. Around 4:30 a.m., Police were called to the 2000 block of Naismith Drive on reports of someone “shooting off” Roman candles in the street.

This morning, officers also responded on one noise complaint, one disturbance and conducted two vehicle stops. None of this mornings activity involved the use of any weapons or resulted in any serious injuries.
