Most of this morning’s activity for Police was fairly average calls for service on a Saturday morning. Officers in Lawrence responded on a few disturbances, noise complaints and conducted several vehicle stops.

At 3:25 a.m., Lawrence Police received a burglary alarm from a business in the 1700 block of W 23rd Street. Officers arrived and found that there was a broken window on the building. A total of four officers along with a supervisor responded to the scene to check the building and the area for a possible suspect or suspects. It did not sound like any arrests were made related to the damaged window.

None of this mornings activity resulted in any serious injuries.

Sadly, over the past few weeks there has been a spike in suicide attempts throughout my listening area. As this is one of the scanner calls that is never easy to hear. I urge anyone struggling with depression to talk to someone.
