August 2nd Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Quiet Monday night into Tuesday morning.

Lawrence Police responded on many of the every night calls including; a few disturbances and noise complaints.

Just after 1:30 a.m. A Lawrence Police Officer on routine patrols spotted fireworks a few blocks away. The Officer responded closer into the 1000 block of west 24th Street. The Officer located the site where the fireworks were being shot from however, the subject(s) involved had fled from the area.

The rest of the morning hours were mostly vehicle stops and a few burglary/panic alarms on businesses. All of the alarms, that I heard, ended up being false alarms.

None of the overnight activity, that I heard, involved any weapons and nothing resulted in any serious injuries.
