August 16th Overnight Law Enforcement & Fire/Medical wrap up

Another very quiet night in Douglas County.

Shortly before 11 p.m. a woman called 911 to report that someone had “abandoned” a Pit Bull in her backyard. The woman stated that she was afraid of the dog and would not be able to let her dogs out until Police removed the Pit Bull.

Lawrence Police responded on a few noise complaints throughout the night. Vehicle stops, several battery/disturbance calls were also handled by LPD. One of the disturbances reportedly involved a male armed with a knife. That male subject left the area in a vehicle prior to the Police being called. Police were not able to locate that vehicle and the other subjects involved and witnesses to the disturbance were less then cooperative with Police.

The activity blogged here is only a sampling of some of the things that Douglas County Law Enforcement and Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical respond on. To see a complete list of Lawrence Police activity, the department has that available on their website along with several easy to use maps that show approximate locations for Police activity.
