BREAKING! Levon Helm, Robbie Robertson end feud, will reunite for concert in basement of the Alamo
NEW YORK - Former members of The Band Levon Helm and Robbie Robertson have ended their decades-old feud and will reunite with surviving Band member Garth Hudson for a benefit concert to be held Thanksgiving Day in the basement of The Alamo.
"It's a shame that Richard (Manuel) and Rick (Danko) can't be here to join us, but we know they will be there in spirit," Robertson told reporters. The void will be filled by session player Russell Kunkel on bass and frequent Rolling Stones collaborator Chuck Leavell on keyboards.
Addressing the rumor that Eric Clapton many make a surprise appearance, Helm replied "You never know. Eric's been a friend of the band for years. I'd be surprised if he missed this one."

Great news if it's true.
Two keyboardists ?
Hopefully Robertson *finally* got some of his ill-earned $$ to Levon.

Multi! Great news. I did not know that you were a Band fan. I agree with Mikola. I think Robertson was a good guitar player and songwriter, but no way he wrote the soul that Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, and Rick Danko put into the songs. Or what about Garth. This band was a five-piece unit all the way. Also good to see Tom on the blog. I'm thinking I agree with his music taste though not his politics.

Either this blog has been duped, or you are going along with a ridiculous hoax the likes of which have been used before. In any case, some people out there need to get a life. There is a Midnight Ramble at Levon's barn in Woodstock NY on Nov. 28, but it is sold out. Go to www.levonhelm.com., plan ahead, and travel to Woodstock to hear some great music, and stop playing these sophomoric games.

You need to get a sense of humor.
Basement at the Alamo?
And I would think a great number of internet users know, if a Rick Astley video is involved, it's a joke.
Or if they didn't before, they have now learned something new about an internet meme. They've just been Rickrolled.
(see here,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rickrolling)
I got a laugh out of it being a Band fan, and just wanted to share.
But thanks for sharing the info. And we'll play all the games we want, we are friendly here and take time to entertain each other. Stop by any time. Oh, and if things like this are 'sophomoric' there must be a lot of sophomoric fun loving people out there because the link to the two Rickrolling
videos have received 39 million views combined, at that was at the time that page was posted. People wouldn't be perpetuating it if they didn't like it.
For those who didn't get tickets, that's a good time to pull out your Last Waltz DVD and have a cozy evening at home.
In the basement media room, if you've got 'em.
;)

Fair enough, it was I who was duped and was pissed for being naive; untutored in Rickrollmania, I will educate myself to avoid such future embarrassments. Do though make it to Levon's barn if you have not done so to catch a fleeting piece of Americana and some damn good music.

This rumor/hoax was not humorous at all and I am positive the musicians mentioned do not think so either. You people should really be embarrassed about this one.

this message was sent to me from levonhelm.com…
We're sorry that there are some people who think that these kinds of hoaxes are humorous. This has been sent to us by several friends/fans, but thank you for also bringing it to our attention. What we've been told is that this was an April Fool's Day “joke”, originally posted a few years ago and it apparently has re-surfaced. Too bad some people don't have better things to do with their time.
Again, thank you, but this IS a hoax and it is, in no way, connected to Levon or Levon Helm Studios.
