¢ It turns out a photograph – and not DNA – was the key piece of evidence in determining the man buried in a Lawrence grave is, in fact, who it was supposed to be, John Wesley Hillmon. The “reasonable probable” results of the grave mystery were reported in today’s Rocky Mountain News._Their finding comes just a few weeks after announcing that efforts to recover DNA from skeletal material exhumed at the grave site this year had failed.__If they’re right, it could trigger a rethinking of a longstanding piece of federal evidence law._¢ A KU graduate has been named chief executive at the world’s third-largest mining company, Anglo American. Cynthia Carroll is the new CEO, the London Times reports._Ms Carroll has spent the last 18 years in the aluminum industry, starting her career with Alcan in 1988 in the rolled products group. Before she joined Alcan, she was a senior petroleum geologist for Amoco in North America working for six years in gas and oil exploration, working across a number of states including Alaska and Utah._¢ The late Prentice Gautt, the former Lawrence resident who broke the color barrier for the University of Oklahoma football team, is featured again today, this time in a column in the Muskogee Phoenix._His saga and his accolades as a player were all before our time.
