KU grad Mulally outlines his plans at Ford

¢ Alan Mulally, the Kansas University graduate who now is chief executive at Ford Motor Co., sat down for an extended interview with the Detroit Free Press._A down-to-earth Midwesterner, Mulally seemed eager to share his thoughts and objectives on a range of subjects. While he used folksy terms like “neat” to describe his impressions of Ford and the industry, his bottom-line assessments were sobering._¢ Tim Hibbard, a Lawrence resident whose every move is mapped through GPS tracking on his Web site, is featured in Business Week magazine._Meet Tim Hibbard. It’s 11:45 p.m. on a Wednesday night and Hibbard is currently near the intersection of Jacob and Ranch Streets in Lawrence, Kan. It’s a cool 50 degrees outside. He’s not moving around now, but he’s traveled a total of 28.42 miles today. And no, I’m not stalking him.__Conveniently for Hibbard’s would-be stalkers, though, he carries his cell phone with him at all times and he’s decided to let the global positioning system on his phone constantly broadcast his whereabouts to his Web site._Here’s a story the Journal-World that included Hibbard a few months ago.¢ James Gunn, a longtime KU professor and well-known scholar on and writer of science fiction, is quoted in this story on the Fordham University Web site about one of its professors, Marleen Barr, receiving a Fulbright award to study science fiction in Germany._”Barr] is probably the most prominent member of the science fiction scholarly field of feminist criticism,” Gunn said._¢ A Pleasant Ridge High School student in Leavenworth has been granted early graduation so that she can attend KU to study pharmacy and possibly music, the [Leavenworth Times reports.
