And why is he special?__He is the guy who dared to say “I just want to dance” and then sashayed his way onto the Rock Chalk Dance Team.__Oh, sure, those Big 12 South teams win national championships, but how many have male dancers?_¢ Also from Fort Worth … a man on parole for the kidnapping and rape of a Lawrence woman was arrested in Fort Worth, the Star-Telegram reports._A registered sex offender has been arrested in connection with the robbery and sexual assault of a woman at a west Fort Worth dry-cleaning business this month. Devin T. Galloway, on parole for tying up, raping and kidnapping a woman in Lawrence, Kan., in 1984, was arrested Sunday on a parole violation warrant obtained after Fort Worth police detectives identified him as a suspect in last week’s attack._¢ Columnist Annie Zaleski of the St. Louis River Front Times gives Lawrence concert promoter Jacki Becker and the Bleeding Kansas Arts & Music Festival props in this week’s edition._In fact, on Saturday, August 5, she trekked out to a park in Lawrence, Kansas, for the Bleeding Kansas Festival, an event put on by none other than Jacki Becker – she of Up to Eleven Productions (uptoeleven .com), a.k.a. the woman who brings the coolest shows to St. Louis._¢ A Kansas University professor is quoted in this Associated Press story about the firing of a Reuter news photographer over allegations of photo-doctoring.
