More than $13,000 worth of construction equipment reported stolen


Law enforcement reportBurglaries and thefts reported ¢ A 28-year-old Lawrence man reported construction equipment and tools were stolen between Monday and Tuesday in the 800 block of Coving Drive. Items in the $13,075 theft included three large air compressors, a Worm-Drive Skilsaw and a Hitachi nail gun. ¢ A 44-year-old Lawrence woman reported a U.S. treasury check valued at $1,200 was forged June 12 in the 1000 block of West Dale Road. Emergency calls Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported these responses: Fire calls ¢ Smoke detector activation due to malfunction, 1:11 a.m. Thursday, 2620 Sawgrass Drive. ¢ Medical assist, 11:07 a.m. Thursday, 530 Eldridge St. ¢ Medical assist, 3:50 p.m. Thursday, 1121 E. 13th St. ¢ Assist person, no obvious injury, 5:28 p.m. Thursday, 1173 N. 1800 Road. ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 8:20 p.m. Thursday, Interstate 70, eastbound lane milemarker 200. ¢ Smoke detector activation, no fire, 10:12 p.m. Thursday, 724 Mass. ¢ Assist person, no obvious injury, 12:41 a.m. Friday, 1173 N. 1800 Road.
