KU reports theft of four laptop computers


Law enforcement report Burglaries and thefts reported ¢ Kansas University Public Safety Office reported a laptop computer theft Tuesday. According to a report, four laptops were removed from a computer storage room in Strong Hall between April 25 and Tuesday. The estimated loss is $5,000.Emergency calls Lawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported these responses: Fire calls ¢ Medical panic alarm, 7:44 a.m. Tuesday, 2557 Cedarwood Ave. ¢ Detector activation, no fire, 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, 325 Maine St. ¢ Detector activation, no fire, 6:01 p.m. Tuesday, 1506 Lilac Lane. ¢ Unintentional transmission of alarm, 6:32 p.m. Tuesday, 509 Fireside Drive. ¢ Minor fire from coals outside apartment window, 7:33 p.m. Tuesday, 1600 Haskell Ave. ¢ Alarm system sounded due to malfunction, 7:55 p.m. Tuesday, 1501 Inverness Drive. ¢ Alarm system sounded due to malfunction, 6:18 a.m. Wednesday, 1429 Kasold Drive.
