Man reports burglary of his car

Law enforcement report¢ A 67-year-old Lawrence man reported an auto burglary and the theft of several items to Lawrence Police on Friday. Items stolen include textbooks, a $300 Sidekick cell phone and clothes. The total estimated loss is valued at $1,442. The incident occurred between 1 a.m. and 9 a.m. Friday in the 2500 block of W. 31st St.¢ A 28-year-old Lawrence woman reported a $1,000 theft of cash, traveler's checks and Marlboro cigarettes to Lawrence Police on Tuesday. The incident occurred between 6:10 p.m Sept. 21 and 2 p.m. Tuesday from the 3300 block of Iowa St.¢A 37-year-old Lawrence woman reported a theft to Lawrence Police on Tuesday. The woman reported $1,000 cash and a checkbook were stolen from the 300 block of E. 9th St. and a door frame and file cabinet were damaged. The total estimated loss is valued at $1,270. The incident occurred between 10 p.m. Monday and 7 a.m. Tuesday.¢ An 18-year-old Shawnee man reported the theft of a 1996 Pontiac Grand Am to Lawrence Police on Thursday. The car is valued at $1,200. It was reported stolen from the 1400 block of Ohio St. between 8 a.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. Wednesday.Emergency callsLawrence-Douglas County Fire & Medical reported the following responses: ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 2:25 p.m. Thursday, 1000 E. 23rd St. ¢ Alarm system activation, 6:39 p.m. Thursday, 945 Mass. ¢ Public service assistance, 8:58 p.m. Thursday, 909 Holiday Dr. ¢ Gasoline or other flammable liquid, 9:11 p.m. Thursday, 2357 Ridge Ct. ¢ Smoke detector activation, 11:38 p.m., 1301 Hoch Auditoria Dr. ¢ Smoke detector activation, 1:30 a.m. Friday, 1220 Bel-Air Ct. ¢ Motor vehicle accident, 1:41 a.m. Friday, Iowa St. and W. 31st St. ¢ Removal of victim, 5:05 a.m. Friday, 1800 Naismith Dr.

    OK then,closer eye.
    It is a sarcastic response to the recent article of felons being on KU rolls.So,I throw this little tidbit in whenever I can to indicate how stupid such fearmongoring the article was and how the KU feloneous employees are the least of our worries by comparison to the daily felonies that are commited every day on and off campus.
