Copper wire stolen from Westar

Law enforcement report¢ A 39-year-old Lawrence woman reported a theft of services worth $1,936 from Meineke, 2535 Iowa St. to Lawrence Police on Tuesday. The incident occurred on Tuesday.¢ A 16-foot black-and-wood trailer worth $2,000 was reported stolen from the 500 block of Michigan. A 32-year-old Lawrence woman reported the theft that occurred between 4 p.m. Friday Oct. 5 and 7:30 a.m. Monday. ¢ A 54-year-old Westar Energy employee reported the theft of copper grounding wire and damage to a chain-link fence from the 500 block of Vermont. The wire, valued at $2,4000, was property of Westar Energy. The damage to the fence is estimated at $200.
