The bill would require that 15 percent of the nation’s electricity generation come from renewable sources by 2020. With such a standard in place, Boyda expects coastal states would turn to farm states like Kansas. “The folks on the coast will have to look to the heartland,” she said Thursday. “They’ll look to Kansas to be the provider of wind energy to meet this renewable energy standard.”Sen.
