What Scares You?
Being of a curious mind, I am the kind of person the Internet was invented for. Isn't it cool the way you can click on a link to find out something and then go back?
So, I checked out phobias.
Do you have one or more of these?
Agyrophobia- Fear of streets or crossing the street.
Alektorophobia- Fear of chickens.
Allodoxaphobia- Fear of opinions.
Arachibutyrophobia- Fear of peanut butter sticking to the roof of the mouth.
Ballistophobia- Fear of missiles or bullets.
Bufonophobia- Fear of toads.
Consecotaleophobia- Fear of chopsticks.
Dendrophobia- Fear of trees.
Ephebiphobia- Fear of teenagers.
Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliophobia- Fear of long words.
Hobophobia- Fear of bums or beggars.
Omphalophobia- Fear of belly buttons.
Pteronophobia- Fear of being tickled by feathers.
Spacephobia- Fear of outer space.
Zemmiphobia- Fear of the great mole rat.
Some of these phobias have been exhibited by posters on here.

have a fear of “unconciousness.” I don't know if there is a name for this but I fear what happens *after* death. Not the dying process or even dying itself but the blankness that comes after it. Of course, if there is a heaven, or another dimension or something like that after death, this wouldn't be a bad thing. I just fear that lack of awareness, the lack of learning…in other words, life.
I realize this probably makes no sense but that is what I am most afraid of.

I know a farmer who will work in the mud all day, go 'in' to his armpit helping birth a difficult calf, breathe dirt and chemicals all day without a thought to what he is doing. If he sees a hair on the table when he eats a meal he will nearly gag and loses his appetite. Now I know there is a name for it.
I don't think I have any fears that actually terrorize me, more just concerns that stay in the back of my mind. Have found in the past that when frightening events happen I am able to keep calm and help with whatever needs doing. That is of course if it didn't happen to me………..
Then, a day or two, or even months later I will remember some detail of the event and have a minor panic attack or get mildly depressed over it. Can think it out and get it right in my head then move on……

I have a fear about driving near water at night. Or over bridges. But only at night. I don't know if there is a name for it, and it's totally irrational as I am a stong swimmer. But I get a very panicked feeling driving near a lake or something when it is dark—just that fear of being trapped in a sinking car in dark water!! Yikes. Maybe that's more like claustrophobia? I don't know….

I do hope you people are trying to make a joke out of someone drowning.
I can assure you it was not funny to me at the time. For the last time, no one thought the devil was in the water, they thought that epilepsy was caused by demon possession.
I remember being at the bridge rail, I was ten, screaming and screaming and my Grandmother was afraid for what they might do to me.
That is just one reason she moved me out of there as soon as she had money to do so.
I really don't what to be reminded of this again.
Wednesday is when I will have money to buy a bathing suit. It will be my first one, and then, and then,

… Another is ( Reversalrepublicanblamoelo ) This is laying blame on the democrats for trying to find a way to clean up the mess left by the republicans. I have to laugh every time i hear a squarehead say “Obama is taking us down ” He is trying to fix what Bush messed up and if you can do better, Run for president next election. Large hairy spiders make my skin crawl. Even photographs of them creep me out. Small and hairy - no problem. Large and smooth - no problem. Large and hairy - ughhhh.
A few years ago I was doing some fall house cleaninig getting ready to close the house up for the winter. I had taken out the storm windows to wash them, had moved the sofa out to sweep behind and when I moved the sofa back there was a wolf spider about three inches long on the floor. I jumped up on the sofa and screamed like a third grade girl. I eventually got him to crawl onto the broom which I then immediately threw both spider and broom out the open window.
I didn't retrieve the broom until the next day.
