Well, That was a long cold winter!
So now it is spring here in Lawrence! And not a moment to soon. I'm sure I'm not the only one ready to shake off the cabin fever. It's been nice to have a few days off, and hang out downtown a bit. Went to the porch(Freestate Brewery) for a while on Monday. It's been so long, I'd forgotten how many folks I know, or at least that we acknowledge each other. Funny how we need that, to be seen and see others, it somehow validates our existence. Went to South Park for a while, where a few of us do some hand-drumming on Monday evenings, at least when weather allows. It's been so long, it was like we were all beginners again, and some of us are! We still had a couple of good grooves though. We chatted a bit about what was going on in our lives and such, it was a nice time. Then back to the brewery for a couple more hoppy beers, with a beautiful friend. Conversation got deep, then I went home to sleep. Tuesday, I went our again for a bit. Got caught in the hardest of the rain! From Ghetto Dillions to my car, I was nearly soaked! Hung out in Joe Shmos drinking $2 pints until I dried off, or it was supper time, I can't recall which. What is up with that place? They were down to very few choices in Drought beer! I hope they have Copperhead by next Tuesday. It was fun in there, I got to tell a few stories about being a stagehand. One about working the Spice Girls, (which I'll never tell here). And about operating a spotlight for the Black-Eyed Peas the other day. Fun times...
