KU Crime Blotter: Jan. 16-22

The following incidents were reported to the University of Kansas Office of Public Safety between Monday, Jan. 16, and Sunday, Jan. 22. Incidents are listed by the dates they were reported.

Jan. 20

• Police arrested someone in possession of a simulated controlled substance, marijuana and drug paraphernalia about 1 a.m. Jan. 20 in Lot 112, 1800 block Naismith Drive.

Jan. 18

• In executing a search warrant police found minors in possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and alcohol Jan. 18 at Corbin Hall. At least one person was arrested.

• A theft occurred Jan. 18 at Oliver Residence Hall.

• Someone used two stolen credit cards to purchase a generator Jan. 17 at Menards. Loss was valued at $1,417.

• Police found someone in possession of marijuana about 11:20 a.m. Jan. 18 at Jayhawker Towers Apartments, Tower C. The person was arrested.

Jan. 17

• Someone smashed a vehicle window and stole a purse from inside about 1:15 a.m. Jan. 17 in Lot 218, 2100 block Clinton Parkway. Loss was valued at $53. Damage was estimated at $250.

• During a consent search of a dorm room, police found a minor in possession of alcohol and drug paraphernalia about 12:45 p.m. Jan. 17 at Ellsworth Residence Hall. The suspect was arrested.

• Vandalism occurred between Jan. 11 and Jan. 16 at Douthart Scholarship Hall. Someone spray painted “rush” on a concrete wall. Damage was estimated to be $100.

Jan. 15

• Someone entered a vehicle and took items Jan. 14 or Jan. 15 in the 1300 block of Louisiana St. Loss was valued at $200.

Dec. 17

• Someone committed the crimes of rape, contributing to a child’s misconduct, furnishing alcohol to a minor and possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1700 block of Naismith Drive. The case was listed as open. (See related story here.)
