Two associate deans in KU’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are finalists for the same jobs at other universities.Paul D’Anieri and Barbara Romzek, according to various media reports, are finalists for dean positions at the University of Connecticut and at the University of Florida. The Florida search, for a dean of its College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, has recently come into question because the third finalist dropped out of the running, casting doubt on whether the search could go forward with only Romzek and D’Anieri as finalists. At UConn, the two KU candidates are joined by Jeremy Teitelbaum, a senior associate dean at the University of Chicago. In addition to the two jobs D’Anieri and Romzek are competing jointly for, both are finalists for another position as well.Romzek is among four finalists for the position of dean of the School of Environmental and Public Affairs at Indiana University. No decision has been announced in that search, despite Romzek’s January visit to Indiana.D’Anieri is a finalist for the position of dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University. D’Anieri visited that campus this week.
