‘Heard on the Hill’ launches

This is the inaugural posting of “Heard on the Hill,” a new online feature that will offer regular glimpses into what’s happening at Kansas University. The idea is to spotlight personalities, ideas, trends, and upcoming events, as well as tidbits that might not find a home in the daily print edition of the Journal-World. It’s also a good place for readers to give feedback about their experiences working at, attending and living near KU, which, after all, is the biggest employer in town, with five times more employees (9,396) than the second-biggest, Pearson Government Solutions (1,800).You’re likely to find postings here about some of the hot topics on campus – such as the proposed affiliation between KU Medical Center and St. Luke’s Hospital, KU’s decision to move the Missouri football game to Kansas City, Mo., and the new leadership throughout the university – in addition to more lighthearted features about the everyday people and places that make up Mt. Oread. Thanks for joining in.-Contributed by Eric Weslander.
