Ms. Stephaine Birdwell-Bighorn is as highly unqualified as anyone with oversight of higher education can get.

President Obama greeted tribal leaders from across the country and encouraged them to speak to Secretary Salazar about native natural resources. Obama said that Salazar had a "high interest" in natural resources in Indian Country and he would help with issues like super fund sites and clean water.

Secretary Salazar's interest is on the right track, but Indian country's most important natural resource is its children and Bureau of Indian Education, under Salazar's, Echohawk's, and Skenandore's watch is reeling from lack of interest.

The Director of Bureau of Indian Education's position is reannounced; it will be over three years since this agency had a permanent director. There are lawsuits waiting for the new appointee.

After the National Indian Education association meeting the position announcement was re-written. How many times does it take Bureau of Indian Education personnel to get a position description written correctly?

Current candidates, those in the pool that got the letter that said you need not reapply, (well a couple of you need not reapply because you don't qualify now). Oddly, enough I think that the common denominator on those currently excluded is that they are Republicans.

Of course, everyone knows that now Mr. Bart Stevens is imminently better qualified than before, and he didn't even have to change parties.

If you're thinking of applying, don't bother.

Pretty odd that the Bureau of Indian Eduction wants to re-write the position announcement to make sure that the applicants are really really qualified, when Ms. Stephaine Birdwell-Bighorn is sitting in the cheap (oops) seats as highly unqualified as anyone with oversight of higher education can get.

Maybe this administration just doesn't want to make the same mistakes as the last....oops again, it was this administration that made that appointment for Stephanie Birdwell-Bighorn. And it was made right under the nose of all those watchful personnel eyes who get to say it's okay to be in the same office day to day with your boss, who is the Washington D.C. boss.

Wasn't that Spike Bighorn's (Stephaine Birdwell-Bighorn's husband) picture on those poster's circulating. First time we've seen him without a striped shirt and a whistle.
