All shots fired double action from 15 yards.

Double action? Good placement! I haven't been able to get to a range in over a year.

20 years ago the hands were steadier and the eyes could pick out the front sight better. It is what it is, still better than most. . .

nothing makes me feel like a man quite as much as shooting bullets at a piece of paper.

j_bob - S&W 4" Model 15 .38 Special, with 168gr Keith bullet ahead of 4.6 Unique

c1 - I refer to it as a "paper zombie"

bb03 - so . . . doesn't take much for you, huh?

Y'all might like this one too, 6 rounds of .308 Winchester, 200 yards from a bench rest. The 2 on the right were fired, then after a scope adjustment the next 4 scored all in the 10 ring.

Fine shooting, Roe. Now do it from a tree stand 16 feet up on a 20-degree December day, spitting snow, with a north wind in your face which makes your stand rock! I'm switching to an elevated deer box this year. I'm 60 and don't need that stuff anymore! I didn't have any luck with the .308 and went back to 7MM Rem. magnum for deer. I know the .308 is a very popular caliber. Nothing tips them over like the 7mm or the .270 in my opinion.

Thanks riverdrifter! The first deer I bagged with the .308 was from 15 feet up but the buck walked right under me. Three years later on the same property, this time from a barn window, I took a large doe at 325 yards. Both were heart/lung shots as intended. The buck ran about 30 yards before he figured out he was dead, the long shot doe dropped without a twitch.

If you are going to be dumb, you better be tough...(and that doesn't mean buying a bigger gun).

You certainly seem to be very much in control of your gun - game beware!

Hot casing going down.... Sounds worse than a rug burn.....

That depends on how (and why) you got the rug burn....

Now I ain't sayin' there hasn't been dumb stuff happen at the range, but if anybody I was shootin' with pulled this shtuff either he or I would be packin' up the gear and leavin'. (Like the line says, too bad he didn't catch one. Those things are HOT!)

Doggone it, nobody asked about the "head" shots! I was attempting to add a "smiley" face . . . as you can see, after the smile failed I gave up on that idea . . .

Take a closer look at the target.

He is facing AWAY from us. RoeD, you shot up an unarmed paper guy in the back!

Bully.

Well damn, bea! If he'd been facing me he might have shot back!
