Song Blog; "I Like Guns"

Some of you may have noticed an ongoing theme to some of my blogs in the past. For those of you that haven't . . . Yes, it's true, I like guns! Big guns, small guns, old or new, simple or complex, cheap or expensive. All of 'em. There's a story behind every one of them and I never grow weary hearing them.

As you may have surmised, This song blog will be about . . . Guns!

Please post a song that includes a reference to guns in any form in the title, the lyrics or the artist's name. One song per post and include the title, artist and link or lyrics. Have fun with it, there are literally thousands of them out there!

This is inspired by the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Roland is the last gunslinger in his land. Later he meets Susana, Eddie and Jake and discovers that they are natural born gunslingers. King is very much a fan of western books and of the poem, Childe Roland to the Dark Tower came, put them together and you get the gunslinger with his big irons with the sandalwood grips on a quest.

"Dry desert winds blow sand into a shabby bar Drunken guys with cracking souls hang around In the corners and are out of hope Mankind is in despair, because the mighty Shadows of the dark tower lie over them, Like a black blanket"

The door is banging on the wall Shadows of a men enters this hall Silence governs the room Now is the beginning of doom

The man's face is dirty and far But the eyes sparkle clear like a star It's Dragon, the gunslinger The guy with the nimble finger He is searching the dark tower Has never seen there a blooming flower His mission is to rescue the land And Dragon is ready for the last stand

Until the bad powers are put aside Hope returns and morning light You must kill to get back the sun In a battle with a loaded gun

Here comes the gunslinger With the nimble finger To fight against the dark tower Until death with all his power

Here comes the gunslinger...

P.S. How do you put the video on a blog and not just the link? Thanks!

Since nobody has mentioned them yet, Guns N Roses of course. My favorite song would have to be "You Could Be Mine." The song itself doesn't mention guns, but it conjures images of saving John Connor.

And you cannot think of T2 without thinking of Linda Hamilton's "guns" as she does pullups in the insane asylum.

Well! Step out to the bunker (where else?) to do a little reloading (whodofguessed?) and come back to find all this!

rockchalker52, that was my favorite western as a kid. Now when I watch the old reruns I wonder why . . . musta been his way with the ladies back in Frisco at the Hotel Carlton.

Here's another oldie I like . . .

"Don't Take Your Guns To Town" - Johnny Cash

Roe, I loved that western. It was as good as 'Maverick' & 'Cheyenne' & 'The Rifleman.' Actually, it was way better than 'The Rifleman.'

I do believe I re-posted your Johnny Cash link. Oops!
