Sistine Chapel by RoeDapple

Ronda Miller brought to my attention that a "Random" act of nature, a lightning strike near the Caylee Anthony memorial, is now being seen as sign of disapproval by God for the verdict in Casey Anthony's trial. Well, I'm not one to get into arguments of a religious nature, but I will not be looking for pictures of Jesus in my toast if you know what I mean. Ronda did pass on an idea for a song blog however and it goes something like this.

Name a song that deals with wrath, revenge and or punishment. Please limit your posts to one song with the title, artist and a link or the lyrics. Have fun with it, and get creative!

The ambiguity of this one allows for each listener's own translation--wrath? revenge? or simple catharsis?

As for the "lightning as sign from god" BS that's going around the internet, get real, folks. Coincidentally, the KC Star this morning reported that a Kansas City-area church roof collapsed into the sanctuary. Naturally, the superstitious will look the other way when it's a church, but if it had been a Planned Parenthood clinic, a strip joint, or even a rowdy nightclub, they would be out in full force, claiming that Jesus was speaking through the mysterious means of rotten joists and aging plywood.

This one has been widely denounced as misogynistic, but I see it as more of a (barely post-) adolescent revenge tale--one that, if you could see into the next chapter of the story, would have her wresting the power back for the next round.

Boston - You aren't so far from the truth. A (very) distant relative of mine carried supplies to Leonardo da Vinci as he painted the chapel ceiling. (paint, clean brushes, a sammich now and then) Yep, union man. Hod carrier. Later on got his butt dumped down Louisiana way, ended up a cajun forefather . . .or at least one of his descendants did.

    Clearly a lure, in the guise of sustenance. And that nipple certainly matched its receptor. Odd allegory, personal in its imagery, not so much instructive as tragically illuminating. (I don't think those little berry babies ever had a chance.)
    
    Unusual find, UNKLE, alternately engaging and humdrum. Embedded monologs from favorite films (Jacob's Ladder, The Thin Red Line) first caught my attention. The right values; gems to be mined.
    
    And, vengeance, the great (vicious) circle of life, for some, the price of the ticket to recursively paying the price.
