Creative Writing Awards to be given Sunday
Two Lawrence authors will be honored Sunday with Langston Hughes Creative Writing Awards.The awards, given annually by the Lawrence Arts Center’s Committee on Imagination and Place and The Raven Bookstore, encourage authors who have never published a book to finish a manuscript.This year’s winners — out of 19 entries — are Nancy Pistorius (left) and Judy Bauer. Bauer is a former school counselor and president of Bauer Management, and Pistorius is a freelance writer.The ceremony is at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Lawrence Arts Center.
