Student art on display at Lawrence Arts Center

Public art exhibits are pretty commonplace in Lawrence, but it isn’t every day that the city’s youngest artists have the chance to showcase their work.
The Lawrence Arts Center is currently hosting the school district’s annual art show, which includes student art from all 20 of the district’s schools.
The show features student artwork selected by district art teachers and ranging from kindergarten through 12th grade. Selections include a variety of visual art, such as drawings, paintings and ceramics. Think abstract art and self-portraits, but also cat portraits and ceramic pandas.
The exhibit will be open until May 14 at the Lawrence Arts Center, 940 New Hampshire St. Arts center galleries are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
