Local storyteller Priscilla Howe will have two performances on Thursday at the Lawrence Public Library.
Howe, a former children’s librarian, has been a full-time storyteller and puppeteer since 1993, according to her website. Howe has performed in schools, libraries, conferences, festivals and other special events across the country.
Thursday’s performance is open to all ages and likely is the best fit for children in pre-kindergarten through fourth grade, according to the library’s youth services coordinator, Karen Allen.
“They’re stories that either she’s made up or stories that are well-known folktales,” Allen said.
Howe and her puppets will perform “Hopping on one Foot! Story Stretches, Songs, and Silliness” at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and Allen said each performance will last about 45 minutes.
The performances are free and open to the public and will take place in the auditorium of the library, 707 Vermont St.
