Busy weekend planned at Trinity Lutheran

This will be a busy weekend at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1245 N.H. On Saturday, the church is hosting a regional workshop for the Stephen Series Caring Ministry. That runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.Stephen Ministry trains members of churches to provide extended care to those in need, such as those dealing with the death of a loved on, divorce, hospitalization, the loss of a job, loneliness or relocation.”Stephen Ministry helps our members fulfill their Christian calling to love one another,” says the Rev. Gary Teske, senior pastor at Trinity Lutheran. “Loving and caring for people isn’t just the pastor’s job – all Christians are called to minister to one another.”Then, on Sunday, Trinity is celebrating its 140th anniversary. Members will gather at 9:30 a.m. for tours at the church’s former location, 1046 N.H., where law offices now are located. Then, they’ll recreate the walk the church made when it opened its current location by processing to 1245 N.H.Several former pastors are expected back for a potluck dinner at 12:15 p.m._ – Faith Files, which examines issues of faith, spirituality, morals and ethics, is updated by features/faith reporter Terry Rombeck.
