Dog Days Birthday

To start, my name is Megan, I'm 15 years old, and I will be a sophomore at Free State in the fall. I have been participating in Dog Days since I was in 3rd grade, and every year it's the same, a little hard work and exercise but you feel great at the end when you can say, "I finished, I actually did it." Yesterday was my birthday, and yes, I went to Dog Days. The morning session, 6 a.m. to be exact, was cancelled due to rain so I went back home to rest up for the evening session, at 6 p.m. We started off with a few calisthenics (cals) and then ran around the track until Red Dog said, "Stop" through the mega-phone, when that happened you would either do 20 push-ups or 20 mountain climbs. After we finished that we returned to the football field to do a few more cals, then Red Dog had us listen to a speaker, when the speaker had finished we checked our heart rates (tip: check your heart rate BEFORE you start working out so you don't get a distorted result) mine was a big 60 beats a minute (what was yours, what is a good average to have). After we finished with that we did a mini campus run, through the parking lot, around the museum, to the top of the new parking garage and back to the Stadium the same way. When you finished that, you were done for the day. Not a bunch of fun for a birthday, but still I love Dog Days, its a great time to see friends, and get healthier.Today was Heather's Run. I ran the 5k in 27:47 and got 90th place. If you ran in the race what was your time if you can remember and your place? That's all for now...
