More practices and ALS Ice Bucket Challenges

Today I have more video of a football practice, this time from Free State High, as Wednesday was mostly teams finishing up tryouts.

If anyone is wondering why there’s only been footage of football practices so far, the main reason is that I didn’t want to interfere with any tryouts, but I should have video of volleyball, soccer, etc. throughout the rest of the week or beginning of next week.

When I stopped by Free State’s football practice, they were split into their offensive position groups, so I have tape of the wide receivers going on routes, linemen and running backs working on screens, while quarterbacks are either throwing screens or working on throwing to other routes. You can watch the video below:

Lawrence High junior Amani Bledsoe, who picked up several college offers this summer, was just added as a four-star recruit by Scout.com.

Greg Powers, a national recruiting analyst for Scout.com wrote: “Bledose has emerged as the early top player in the state and has started to earn some nice offers from schools like Kansas, Oklahoma State and North Carolina State. He is very strong at the point of attack and quick and coordinated for a kid with his early size.”

Bledsoe is ranked as the No. 11 defensive end and No. 105 in the entire 2016 graduating class.

Both high school football coaches, Free State’s Bob Lisher and LHS’s Dirk Wedd, participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge this week.

All of Free State’s football coaches did the challenge together, and it can be seen in this video (via Shane Hofer):
