Athletes of the Week

Free State High's girls soccer team and Lawrence High's baseball teams finished undefeated last week. One big piece of the Firebirds' success was senior Maren Kahler, who scored goals in wins over Shawnee Mission North and Olathe Northwest. For LHS baseball, sophomore Parker Kirkpatrick was great at the plate and on the mound. He had two saves, and a few RBI hits to help the Lions beat Shawnee Mission South and Olathe South.
