Redbud Spring

Went to Clinton Lake today to take pictures and enjoy this nice Spring(?) weather. I am going to be really interested in the state March average temperature data. Looks like this month could be a hundred year event. Here is a brief slide show of my pictures from today:
Enjoy!

The redbuds don't typically come out until April and now that April is here, they are transitioning to leaves as your photos show. I figure that we're 3-4 weeks ahead due to the warm temps--better hurry if you want to see the woodland wildflowers!

I wonder if bird migrations are ahead. Will the warblers for instance come through sooner or will they stay on schedule?

Paul, these are wonderful photographs. They show what the Midwest can be.
I'm going to email these photographs to a number of people, including friends in Europe and Africa.
You should try to get the other Kansas newspapers to show these photographs as well.

Really lovely photos, Paul! Mike, from Sunrise Gardens, told me a few days ago that we are indeed a month ahead of schedule, weatherwise.
