Man arrested after reported road rage incident in Lawrence

A man went to jail Sunday evening following a reported road rage incident in south Lawrence.

About 5:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to the area of 31st and Iowa streets on a road rage call, Lawrence police Sgt. Amy Rhoads said, in an email. She did not share more details about the incident, but said police made an arrest in the incident and have forwarded the case to the district attorney’s office for review.

A 23-year-old Lawrence man was arrested about 6:15 p.m. in the 1800 block of West 28th Street in connection with the incident, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office booking log. Kyle P. McLaugh Carpenter was charged Monday with one count of aggravated assault, a felony, for allegedly placing two people in “apprehension of immediate bodily harm” with a deadly weapon, specifically a truck, according to charges filed in Douglas County District Court.
