Sheriff’s Office: Eudora man suffers minor injuries after rolling his car into a ravine near Lawrence

A Eudora man suffered minor injuries Sunday morning after accidentally driving into a ravine east of Lawrence, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

Around 9:15 a.m. the 32-year-old man was southbound in the 1500 block of East 1625 Road, just east of Lawrence, when he drifted off the road, said Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Kristen Dymacek. The man’s car, a 2003 Chevy Malibu, came to rest in a ravine on the west side of the road.

Deputies and road crews worked Sunday morning to pull the car from the ravine, closing off East 1625 Road for a time.

Once crews righted the vehicle, its sides were clearly dented and its windshield was crushed.

The man was transported by ambulance to Lawrence Memorial Hospital with minor injuries, Dymacek said.
