Lawrence video store robbed Monday night at gunpoint, police say; suspect yet to be identified

One man dressed in dark clothing robbed a video rental store Monday night, police said.

Around 11:25 p.m. a man, whose face was covered, entered Family Video at 2223 Louisiana St., brandished a handgun and demanded money, said Lawrence Police Sgt. Amy Rhoads.

The suspect stole the business’ money and left the business walking west, Rhoads said.

Rhoads would not say how much money the suspect stole.

No injuries were reported from the robbery, Rhoads said.

According to the Lawrence Police Department’s activity logs, 15 officers responded to the reported robbery.

The incident remains under investigation, Rhoads said. The suspect has neither been located nor identified.

Further information was not immediately available.
