Wonderful Downtown Lawrence
We headed to Lawrence at 9 a.m. Anticipating the day as we went. This was our big game week-end, and shopping in Lawrence.
I read all the posts on here about the problems some think there are in downtown Lawrence and as a visitor, (with a very free miind) find it most fun and entertaining. I so enjoy all the people on the street. We never seem to have enough time to just sit and watch. Always going from store to store. Lawrence is a unique town that all of you should be proud of. When I read about what people complain of, I think those things are sometimes what makes walking up and down the streets so memorable. From all the people playing their instruments, even, the random panhandling. The people walking up and down the streets saying, "Look at me, I can be who I want to be, and it's okay."
As one who has seemed to always look for acceptance, of who I might really be, I feel, who I am, when I'm in Lawrence. When I get back to my reality, I always look forward to another trip back to the place that I see as a place where you can be wierd and it is okay.
