<p>Caring Matters is a weblog by Dr. Robert Harder.</p> <p>Harder, an ordained Methodist minister, was SRS secretary for 18 years (1969-1987). He served in the administrations of former Kansas Govs. Bob Docking, Robert Bennett, John Carlin, Mike Hayden and Joan Finney.</p> <p>Harder is now an unpaid lobbyist for the United Methodist Church. He has helped to organize the Big Tent Coalition, a group of some 60 organizations that have been lobbying to restore the cuts that have been made in SRS.</p>
