A Letter To The City
A Letter To The City of Manhattan, KansasDear City Fathers,Congratulations for receiving the national Bio-Defense Lab. In 10 years, when your population is greater than Lawrence’s, please do not look to Lawrence as an example to follow unless you want to see how a great community turned into a dismal community. Our city is dying and your city is thriving and will be thriving even more in the years to come. Just remember, growth is good for the tax base. Growth pays. Being anti-growth and restrictive does not pay and leads to high property taxes, high sales taxes, increased cost of living, lack of jobs due to excessive requirements for incentive seeking industry, and lack of new retail due to excessively restrictive land standards. Keep up the good work encouraging business expansion. Lawrence doesn’t have a clue. Most here are waiting for a new phoenix to rise from the ashes of our failed City policies. Please remember, it is better for a community to be business friendly. Sincerely,Mr. Big PruneLawrence, KansasThe Gilligan’s island on the prairie
