Help Your Elderly Neighbors with Snow

I was driving by Alabama and 27th Terr on my way home to the country this afternoon. The corner of that intersection to be specific. An Octogenarian was shoveling the "snow plow shelf" at the end of his driveway. Shoveling is generous, tiny bites would be more specific. I turned on my way to Louisiana and then found myself circling around the block. I could not go home without offering my assistance. It took me 10 minutes to do what he could accomplish in an hour. And I'm a 56 yo woman! Where were his neighbors??? Surely they know he is there. When I was done, he asked me if I "lived around here".

You are a good person to do this. I wonder how many others drove by and did nothing. Older people who live in homes that they own want to stay in them and I can understand that. They have things that are priceless in memories, things collected over the years as they lived with their families. I hope this blog is a little nudge to get others to do what you did. Thanks.

Bless you!! This would be a better place indeed, if more people would take the few minutes to give to others around them. Don't know if you believe in karma...but you just added to yours. (I'd bet you build your karma on a daily basis)
