well, I reckon we don't get too old...put another quarter in the juke box, OK? Back at the old bar when I was a kid, "The Wizard" by Uriah Heep was T-9.

Good blog, Autie. Long week for many.

I love Stevie Ray. Coincidentally, earlier this evening I was listening to one of his buds, who also left this world way too soon. A northern cousin.

    Enjoy~

oh my Pywacket, that post qualifies you for full cousin status and "on my deck" rights. That boy was real good too. Some of that there music is what we do, after a good supper and some hot tub, them lights get dim and we sits back with a glass and enjoy. It's late and the kids are in bed and momma starts to look real warm. And I'm so sure tomorrow is gonna be such a nice day. I reckon that's what we call the good life.

I saw SRV too many times to count while others were doing Dead. Saw him in Austin and twice at the Brady Theatre in Tulsa. Sandstone & elsewhere.
At the Brady, the second time, he played Lennie. We were about 6 rows back. It still raises the hair on the back of my neck. Stevie was there, playing, but he had done left the room. His eyes were rolled back. Nothing but whites showing. Jimmie was visably freaked for few moments but collected himself and played on.
Stevie had made a momentary visit to the crossroads, methinks, to parley with Robert Johnson and old lucifer. Afterwords we made our way outside and leaned up against that chainlink fence across right across the street to the south. It was suffocatingly hot at midnight. A really great looking lady came up to us and offered a joint. "You look like you need this" she said. We'd had all we could stand for one night.
    That damn helicopter...
